There are many books in The General Series. Each one is special to me due to historical importance, being the big fan of history. I must admit just knew a few things about Andrew Jackson,but after reading this book i've gained so much more knowledge on the man he was.Paul Vickery has done his homework on this book.Backed up by facts and truths he digs deep into this man of many titles,and lets you feel his achievements as you read along.Anyone who loves history i highly reccomend you buying this book. you will not be dissapointed.I think this book would make a great christmas or birthday gift for anyone who truly enjoys history! We homeschool and this book {as well as others from the series} will be used in our curriculum!!
I received a copy of Jackson - The Iron-Willed Commander By Paul Vickery from Thomas Nelson/ BookSneeze. It is part of The Generals, a series about powerful Christian leaders.
Heaven is for real Kids captures little kids attention and makes them imagine what Heaven is like. It makes them think about what it will be like to see Jesus and it reminds them how much He loves them.
Heaven is For Real for Kids is written in Colton's own words about his experience. Young kids will easily be able to grasp Colton's simple phrasing and descriptions, and once again, each page is illustrated beautifully. The message of love will surely bring peace, comfort, and joy to all who read it.
I would recommend when reading this book with you children having your bible near by and read the verses your self with you child! I would recommend this book to parents and grandparents who have kids and grandkids who are non-believers

I'll be honest, normally I'm not a fan of the whole historical romance novel. However I found the description on Spring for Susannah very intriguing - the mail-order bride scenario seemed a little different than what I usually read. Spring for Susannah is set in the 1800's on the frontier in the Dakota territory.The characters were very likable and interesting, I loved Jesse from the moment he was introduced and I truly felt the chemistry between Jesse and Susannah. After reading the book I can tell you that it's not your typical mail-order setting but more of a 'last resort' for Susannah. She knew this was her last alternative to even hope for a husband and home.
When Susannah left the home she knew she had no idea what she was getting herself into, she still got on the train and headed west. She was nervous and afraid. She assumed her new husband would have a home like she was accustomed to and she would take care of it and her husband as her mother taught her. In these pages of this book you will find out that she got something very different.
Can you imagine? Put yourself in her place: leaving everyone you have known your entire life and going out into the total unknown. I loved how patient and kind Jesse was with Susannah.
The only CON I really is have I felt the story being rushed with little to no emotion. I was little was disappointed with the ending, maybe another chapter or two. However, its a great story leaving the reader wanting more!! I hope there will be a sequel! She is a great new author!

Which book is your favorite?
That's a tough question because so many of the titles have woven their way into my heart! Although I have never had children (biologically, that is). I love the art and sentiments in Eat Your Peas for New Moms and I can hardly wait until it is published in the new hardcover keepsake edition by Thomas Nelson. New mothers need and deserve all the cheering on they can get!
Okay, here's another favorite. I wrote Eat Your Peas for Moms (not to be confused with New Moms) as a love letter to my own mother. When Mom read it for the first time she broke down and cried (a rarity in front of her kids) and told me she was glad she lived long enough to hear the words in that book. She'll turn age 90 in a couple of weeks.
Have you ever thought about doing a book for Mother's of Multiples or Parent's of Multiples for that matter?

I normally LOVE Max Lucado and was very excited about this book, however upon reading it, I was...less than thrilled. Some of the question are answer with a plethora of God's word and bible verses. Then other questions are answered purely with Max Lucados opinion...frankly, I would rather hear God's thoughts on the issue rather than man's. In the aspect of Sex, weather it be abuse or premarital, man is man and will judge, where God will not. I felt a unbalance to the book. The book just isn't for me. I think there are a lot of people out there that would probably enjoy it. I would suggest to my family and friends to check for it at the Library or maybe barrow it before they buy.

Before "Eat Your Peas Daughters" I was not familiar with the "eat your peas" series. I have to tell you I am hooked! This may very well be one of my all time favorite books!
