The Faith of Ronald Reagan
From the Publisher:
Explore the life and personality of President Ronald Reagan through the lens of his deep-felt Christian beliefs. With warmth and insight, Mary Beth Brown delves into the spiritual journey of America's 40th president and offers profound stories of God's providence in Ronald Reagan's life-from first making it as an actor to winning the presidency, from surviving an assassination attempt to eventually changing the face of world politics. With the support of Reagan's own words and writings and firsthand interviews with his family, friends, and co-workers, Brown weaves a magnificent story of Reagan's quiet, strong devotion to God, sure to both inform and inspire.
Timed for the Reagan centenary in 2011 and released in a season of intense political unrest, The Faith of Ronald Reagan is strikingly relevant for today's reader.
My Review...My mom has told me the same story since I was a little girl. A story about how I was going to be named
Hearing this my whole life, sparked a interest in
President Ronald Reagan quotes:
Reagan. She loved the name and she loved Ronald Reagan both as a actor first then as President. When she shared that she was thinking about naming me Reagan she was made fun of and worried that I might be as well...so here I am Britni.Ronald Reagan at a young age. I have always Admired him. Democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. -
Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged. -
A personal favorite that means something very special to me...
Ronald ReaganMr Gorbachev, tear down this wall! -
I remember watching the wall come down- Nov. 9th 1989 - my older brother Troy lived in Germany at the time, and called when the wall was coming down.
Not only are these all things that I admire about Ronald Reagan, but his spiritual life and marriage to Nancy have always been intriguing to me!
I absolutely LOVE this book! Mary Beth Brown did a beautiful job. This book is Jam packed full, of President Ronald Reagan's life. His life as a child, his marriage to adorable and Godly Nancy, His Children...ever thing. I just can't say enough, it is just wonderful. Through out the book there are a number of photos from is life, I really enjoyed seeing him as a child. Among others there is the emotional section about his farewell handwritten letter to the Nation and telling them (us) about his Alzheimer's disease.
"I intend to live the remainder of the years God gives me on this earth doing the things I have always done. I will continue to share life's journey with my beloved Nancy and my family. I plan to enjoy the great outdoors and stay in touch with my friends and supporters....In closing, let me thank you, the American people, for giving me the great honor of allowing me to serve as your president. When the Lord calls me home, whenever that may be, I will leave the greatest love for this country of ours and eternal optimism for its future.
I now begin the journey that will lead me into the sunset of my life. I know that for America there will always be a bright dawn ahead.
Thank you, my friends.
Sincerely,
Ronald Reagan"
Now, this is a man that truly had Jesus in his heart. I am so happy to have known about him, and I will be teaching my Children about our wonderful 40th President!
Not only was Mr. President a Believer, a Husband, a Father, and a Amazingly Caring Man. He was also a gifted writer:

"One of his stories, entitled "Gethsemane" was about a football game. It begins with these words, "To every man comes Gethsemane!...Some fight the battle when old age is creeping on like a silent clinging vine."

"Reagan was earnestly seeking God's will for his life and for his dearly love country. It worked. In a 1984 speech he said. "Saint Paul wrote a verse that I have always Cherished,'Now abide in faith, hope, love, these three: but the greatest of these is Love' May we have Faith in our God and in all the good that we can do with His help. May we stand in the Hope of making America all that she can be-a nation of opportunity and prosperity and a force for Peace and good will among nations. And may we remain steadfast in our Love for this green and gentle land and the freedom that she offers."
I would like to get this book for a number of people I know who think would TRULY enjoy it as I. Please get your self a copy! You will be so happy you did!
